The procedure for Applying for a MEPCO New Connection

Need to apply for a new MEPCO connection? The application form is available for download on their website, in both English and Urdu for your convenience. To complete the application process, please submit this form in person at your nearest MEPCO office. You can apply online using the Electricity New Connection (ENC) System.

Follow the instructions:

  • Visit the ENC official website.
  • From the sidebar menu, select Apply.
  • Enter the neighbor’s reference number, pick the connection category, such as 15kW, and choose the division you wish to request.
  • Enter the essential information and upload the relevant documents (maximum file size 300 KB).
  • Copy of Property Document Copy of Applicant’s Attested CNIC Copy of witness, neighbor’s electricity bill, and wiring contractor’s test report. 
  • Submit your application.
  • You will be assigned a tracking ID after successfully submitting your request. Please record your tracking ID for future reference.
  • To print your application form, go to ENC’s sidebar menu and click the print form option. Enter your tracking ID. 
  • Print your application form and attach physical copies of all essential papers.
  • Please attach the necessary documentation to your application and send it to the appropriate office.
  • Following verification, a demand notice will be sent. You may obtain the demand notice by entering your tracking ID on the ENC website.
  • Please submit the demand notice to the chosen bank.
  •  Send a paid copy of the demand notice to the appropriate office. 
  • The connection will be established upon verification of payment of the Demand notice.

Dual-Phase Electric Connection

If you are applying for a dual-phase, you must include copies of two witnesses’ CNICs; otherwise, your application will be rejected.

  • The consumer is needed to provide a signed tariff copy.
  • Now, submit the application form together with all needed papers.
  • Remember to save a copy of the submitted application form.
  • After that, send a printed copy of the application and certified papers to the appropriate MEPCO office.
  • Following the document verification, you will receive a demand notice shortly.
  • Submit the charges for the demand notice to the selected bank.
  • Submitting a copy of the paid demand notice to the appropriate MEPCO office is also essential.
  • Installing a new meter connection will begin once the demand notice has been verified.

Time duration of MEPCO New Connection

The time duration of the MEPCO new connection depends on the connection’s categories. There are three different categories of MEPCO, each with a different time duration.

Category One up to 15kW

Once you’ve filled out the application form and gathered all the needed documents, head to your local MEPCO office to submit them. They’ll give you a receipt and a seniority number to track your application’s progress. To ease this procedure, the officer will create a seniority record representing the order in which applications were received, which the applicant will have access to.1
Before approving a new MEPCO connection, the relevant officer would physically visit the location to ensure feasibility. If it is not feasible, the applicant will be quickly told.3
The officer will estimate the cost if the location meets the criteria for a new MEPCO connection.2
Once the cost estimate is finalized, the officer will send the applicant a demand notice, which can be collected in person or mailed.2
To apply for a demand notice, applicants must pay the fee at a bank and provide a copy of the receipt to the MEPCO office. 2
Applicants should provide a wiring test report for verification.3
The officer will prioritize applications depending on their due date.1
The officer will issue a service connection order.3
The officer calls the store’s management team to request the necessary equipment for MEPCO’s new connection installation, such as a meter, installation kit, cables, etc.3
The store will supply the needed products to the relevant officer.5
After receiving the connection items, the SDO or Assistant Manager of the Operations office will install the new meter connection.5

Category Two (16 to 70 kW / 400 Volts)

The concerned office will issue the applicant the completed application form and the relevant seniority number. For this purpose, the concerned office shall prepare the seniority register as per the date of receipt of the applicants, up to which the applicant’s access will be provided.1
The concerned office will inspect the applicant’s place where an electricity connection is required and evaluate whether it is possible to provide a connection at the place concerned. If the applicant cannot provide the connection, the applicant will be informed of the reasons.4
The cost will be estimated if it is possible to provide a connection at the desired location.2
The concerned office will approve the installation of the connection.4
After approval of the connection, the installation cost estimate (demand notice for estimated connection and security) will be hand-delivered or sent by post to the applicant. The applicant shall deposit the estimated expenses in the concerned bank and submit the receipt to the concerned office.4
The applicant will provide a wiring test report, which the concerned SDO will verify.4
The concerned office will issue a service connection order.3
The concerned officer will contact the store for the supply of equipment required for the installation of the connection, upon which the concerned store will issue the equipment.7

After approval of the estimated cost of installation of the connection (Demand Notice for Estimate of Connection and Security), the applicant will submit it to the office.4
The applicant shall provide the wiring test, complete with verification to be determined by the concerned officer.4
The concerned office will issue Service Nation Orders.2
The officer calls the store’s management team to request MEPCO’s new connection installation equipment.15

Change Connections Name, Tariff, and Load

  1. Visit the ENC’s official website.
  2. Click the Change option in the sidebar menu.
  3. Select the Application Type, such as name change, load, or tariff. You can also pick several possibilities.
  4. Only enter the relevant information. For example, if you are applying for a change of connection name, fill out only the fields necessary for the change of name application.
  5. Attach the following documents (maximum file size: 300 KB).
  6. Attested copy of the applicant’s CNIC, electricity bill, and proof of ownership.
  7. Submit your application.
  8. You will be assigned a tracking ID after successfully submitting your request. Please record your tracking ID for future reference.
  9. Select the print form option from the ENC sidebar menu and input your tracking ID to print your application form.
  10. The application must be sent to the authorized office, together with the supporting documentation.
  11. Following verification, a demand notice will be sent. You may obtain the demand notice by entering your tracking ID on the ENC website.
  12. The demand notice should be paid to the authorized bank.
  13.  Send a paid copy of the demand notice to the MEPCO office. 
  14. The adjustments will be implemented upon the verification of payment of the Demand Notice.

MEPCO Demand Notice

When customers apply for a MEPCO new connection, MEPCO provides the Demand Notice to its customers when documents are verified. An MEPCO Demand Notice fee is Rs.5000, which you can pay through the ENC website. To pay the Demand Notice fee, please follow the following steps:

  • Visit the ENC website.
  • Select the pay DN option.
  • Enter your tracking ID or CNIC number and click the submit button.

After paying the Demand Notice fee, you can upload it to the ENC website. 

To upload the Demand Notice, follow the following steps:

  • Visit the ENC website.
  • Select the “Upload DN” option.
  • Select your application type.
  • Enter your tracking ID and CNIC number, and click the submit button.

Tracking ID of MEPCO New Connection

Once you’ve uploaded the Demand Notice, you can track the status of your application online, no matter if it’s for a new connection, a name change, a tariff switch, or an adjustment to your electricity load. That’s correct. Tracking IDs help you monitor the progress of your application. They are usually assigned when you submit the application electronically or provided on a receipt after submitting a physical application. Remember to keep your Tracking ID handy for easy access!
